Week 14

WOW!   60+ visitors last month! Thank you and spread the word!

TESTING
As we are getting ready to head into the final slope of the year, many of us are thinking about SAT testing, Peabody Testing etc.  I have done both. Here's my take. Feel free to comment if you have a differing opinion. Peobody testing, although terrific, was designed for the challenging student, lesser readers etc. However, scores show that, regardless of the test taken, your student will have accurate results on either test. The Peabody is more oral and a bit less intimidating than the SAT. The SAT however, gave a detailed, comparison based report which really showed me where my child excelled or needed more work. I think when one goes into college etc, having done the SAT written exam will prove to be best because they will be more familiar with the process. That's my 2 cents!  Pray on it. God will let you know.

How to prepare you ask??? I do TWO things, one is print out and orally test and drill my kids with the CAT Sample questions, and then I also have printed out the MN State Standards. I review and compare, find quizzes, then test my kids to make sure are familiar with the subject matter.
